1018 Lions Basketball is a competitive AAU Basketball group in Pearland, TX. They train kids from ages 6 to 15 that compete in different teams, and in small skills development groups. We approached the Lions coach Nate Gregory to redesign his website from Wix to WordPress, giving him a better presentation for his group.
The project took 2 weeks to redesign into WordPress and launch, with a full SEO support to make 1018Basketball mobile friendly, Google & Bing friendly with local listings (Google My Business and Bing Places), and become a website he can grow with his Lions brand.

The 1018 Lions are a basketball team that competes in the American Basketball Association (ABA). The team is based in Los Angeles, California and plays its home games at the Staples Center.
The 1018 Lions were founded in 2017 by former NBA player Lamar Odom. The team’s name and logo are a tribute to Odom’s amateur basketball team, the 02-03 The Bronx borough team that won the New York championship.
The 1018 Lions finished their inaugural season with a record of 17-5, good for second place in the ABA’s West Division. The team made the playoffs, but lost in the first round to the eventual ABA champions, the San Diego Surf.
The 1018 Lions are led by head coach Jerry Wu, who has experience coaching in the ABA and the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Wu was hired in 2018, after the team’s inaugural season.
The team’s leading scorer is guard Kobe Bryant, who averaged 18.9 points per game during the 2018-19 season. Bryant is a former NBA player and was a member of the 02-03 Bronx team that inspired the 1018 Lions.
Forward Rasheed Wallace is the team’s captain and was one of the team’s leading scorers and rebounders during the 2018-19 season. Wallace is a 12-time NBA All-Star and was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.
The 1018 Lions are one of the ABA’s premier teams and are a force to be reckoned with. With a strong core of players and a experienced head coach, the team is poised for success in the years to come.
